I am a lover of words.  I have been captivated by how we share experiences and communicate with each other for as long as I can remember.  This passion has guided me through a range of life experiences, with connection as their common theme.

I earned undergraduate degrees in English and Journalism.  After spending time writing for an advertising agency and then a non-profit, I focused my energies on raising my children.  Reentering the working world as a professional organizer highlighted my love of deeply connecting with people, which led me to pursue becoming a counselor.

I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology.  My graduate clinical internship was in community mental health, working with adults dealing with persistent severe mental illness, often with co-occurring substance abuse.  I continued in that setting as a mental health therapist for the next several years.  To those clients, I owe a debt of gratitude for invaluable experience and the confirmation that change is always possible.

I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.  I thrive with a mixture of laughter, nature, people I love, movement, interesting books, and unscheduled time.
